Bolivia is without a doubt one of the best places in the world for high volume dove and pigeon shooting. Where Bolivia stands out most is the incredible hands on service from Jorge Molina and his staff. From the moment you arrive until the time you leave you will feel like you are part of the family and they will do whatever they can to ensure that your trip is best it can be. The shooting is beyond belief as millions of doves and pigeons winter in their lush grain fields from April through October creating awe inspiring shooting that cannot be duplicated anywhere else on earth. The best way to describe it is add the volume of birds of Argentina, with the latin fun and flavor of Colombia and then set it in a tropical jungle setting so you never know what you will see from one day to the next. Now this is not wild jungle but the local farmers mostly mennonite, have carved out huge sections of farm land from the jungle creating incredible fields of corn, sorghum and sunflowers that draw in literally millions of doves and pigeon every year. By law, they have to leave a certain percentage of the land natural creating the perfect place for monkeys and other jungle wildlife to live in unison.
Los Guaduales Lodge is nothing short of incredible and is sure to please even the most discriminating of shooters. Los Guaduales Lodge has just about every bell and whistle you could ask for from a dry sauna to a steam sauna. Los Guaduales was designed to be a exclusive lodge for smaller groups of 4-8 hunters and it ended up being if not the most, one of the most beautiful and fully loaded lodges in South America. The lodge can accommodate unto nine guests, all in single room suites but with groups of six or more you get the exclusive use of the lodge for your party. While they are already making their own beer, it will even have it’s own fully equipped brewery to serve a selection of craft beers! If you like to be pampered and enjoy having a great time while shooting thousands of birds, this is without the best lodge in South America.
Bolivia has became the destination for high volume, low stress shooting. Only a short 6.5 hour non stop flight from Miami Bolivia is the easiest to reach and usually has great air fares as well with business class on American starting at $1300 round trip (Note: Only a few seats per flight at this price). Once you get to Santa Cruz our agent will meet you inside of customs and assist you through gun registration and customs making it as easy and stress free as possible. Do to the flight schedules, if you arrive in the evening, you will overbite this first night in Santa Cruz.
The following morning our agents will again meet your group and transfer you 90 minute by private bus to the Los Guaduales Lodge. You will have plenty of time to rest up and have lunch before heading out for the first afternoons shoot.
The following two or three days will be full hunting days depending on if you are on a three or four day trip. The morning starts with a full breakfast and then off to the fields so you are ready when the birds start flying. Most days everyone is shot out by 10:30am and we return to the lodge for a hot lunch and to allow everyone to refresh from the mornings shoot. If the drives are to long we sometimes will have a lunch in the field as well, and depending on the groups wishes. The afternoon shoots are without a doubt incredible every day. The birds darken the sky as they pour in the roosts in the afternoons and then will swarm around making it an incredible experience.
The last shooting day will be a morning shoot only. After returning to the lodge you will have plenty of time to get packed up, have lunch before returning to Santa Cruz for your flight back to the States later this evening.
