Bolivia has the distinct honor of being our favorite dove and pigeon hunting destination at Stafford Adventures for so many reasons. First the Bolivia dove and pigeon hunting is incredible allowing our clients to shoot as much as they can handle. Second Jorge Molina and his staff offer without a doubt the best hands on service in Bolivia if not South America. This is an astonishingly diverse country and an exceptional wing shooting destination in every sense of the word. Located in the heart of South America, Bolivian was long overlooked as hunters traveled further South to Argentina and Uruguay but now the word is out and Bolivia has claimed the title as the hottest new high volume dove and pigeon hunting destination in the world today. The multi-ethnic culture is more Latin than its southern neighbors allowing it to have the flavor of Colombian with the incredibly high volume shooting of Argentina and Uruguay. Throw in that Las Palomas Lodge is more of a full service shooting resort than just a hunting lodge and you too will soon see why they have one of the highest repeat clientele ratios of anywhere in South America.
Since its opening in spring 2001, Las Palomas hunting lodge has excelled in accommodation and services like no other in South America, bringing first class services to this new dove and pigeon hunting mecca. The elegant Las Palomas Lodge , decorated with a Spanish style roof and imported hand painted tiles by a recognized international artist, can accommodate a maximum of 24 guests but we like to give everyone single occupancy so unless you have a extra large group, we keep it to 12 guest separated in 12 different air conditioned double bed suites allowing single room accommodations for everyone. New in 2015 we are opening the brand new, even nicer Rincon de Las Palomas Lodge that will boast 8 single rooms for the smaller more private groups. Both lodges have just about everything you would require from Jacuzzis, swimming pools and of course fully stocked open bars. The living quarters at Las Palomas Lodge are split between three building with 6 rooms in the main lodge, a four room mini lodge complete with a separate fully furnished porch and a smaller two room little lodge again complete with its own private screened in patio. Rincon de Las Palomas has all guest suites enclosed in one super nice building complete with a full spa room with everything from steam and dry heat saunas and massage tables. Las Palomas also features local and international phone services as well as a computer and wireless internet.
The hunting is Bolivia is extremely high volume shooting but here it is quality over quantity as never will you feel pushed to shoot more shells. The trip originates in Santa Cruz, Bolivia where you will be met and assisted through customs gun registration. You will then be either drive a short hour and 45 minutes or charter 20 minutes to the lodge. Once at the lodge you will have plenty of time get settled in and have lunch before you head out for the afternoons roost shoot. The next two or three days are full shooting days normally returning to the lodge for lunch every day. The last day you will shoot in the morning only and then return to Santa Cruz where we will put you up in a five star hotel for the last evening. The following morning you will depart Santa Cruz for Miami around 9:00am for a shorter 6.5 hours flight to Miami arriving around 4:00pm. Normally our outfitter Jorge Molina will shoot at least a half day for pigeons during the trip.
